Review copies of Verbosity's Vengeance

Do you enjoy a well placed semicolon? Do you feel passionately about the Oxford comma? Do you regard the phrase "eats, shoots and leaves" like a secret password to your favorite clubhouse?

Then have I got a superhero for you!
"The nefarious Professor Verbosity threatens Lexicon City with a mysterious new superweapon and only the Grammarian can stop him… just as soon as he hires a decent sidekick. Mix in the interference of the Avant Guardian (a goofy superhero wanna-be), a mysterious stranger who strikes from the shadows, and a beautiful, brainy college professor with a thing for superhero technology, and the Grammarian has his work cut out for him."

This book should appeal to superhero and science fiction genre fans looking for a new twist on good vs. evil. Readers who enjoyed the wordplay and humor of Jasper Fforde’s “Thursday Next” series or Norton Juster’s “The Phantom Tollbooth” will enjoy seeing the Grammarian use the strength of supple syntax and the power of perfect punctuation to fight for justice on the mean streets of Lexicon City.
I'm giving away some reviewer copies of "Verbosity's Vengeance: a Grammarian Adventure Novel" in advance of the September 16 launch date. If you'd like to be one of the lucky few, leave me a comment below with a means of getting in touch with you (e.mail, twitter handle, etc.). Your name will go on the list for the review copies I'll be sending out later this month. Supplies will be limited, though, so don't wait.

If you know of someone else who might enjoy the book, feel free to let them know.

  2. "Eats, Shoots & Leaves" was the book my father was reading at the time of his death. As such, it has become for me a kind of password or talisman.

Sign me up for a review copy, Tony, if you have one to spare. I've read much of what you've written about this novel and I look forward to spending time with it.

  3. I'd love a review copy, Tony. That would be my raison d’ĂȘtre to dust off the blog and get started again, plus I can talk you up on my social media! :)

  4. Tony, I wish I could do this, as your book has always seemed up my alley. But between now and October I have two very long mind-sapping trips and have to conquer a thirty-book syllabus for a workshop. So I'll simply have to buy your book the old fashioned way once I get free time, probably in 2018. I'm looking forward to 2018.

  6. Hi Tony!

I'm in a similar boat as John. While I've truly enjoyed the bits and pieces I've read from Verbosity, I'm kind of in a black hole until Decemberish. I will happily purchase the book when it's ready and spread the word as much as I'm able to. Good luck on the launch!
