What to do for visitor 3000?

Based on this data, I expect that this blog will receive its 3000th unique visitor about eight weeks from now. Thanks, everyone! I'm thrilled and gratified at the response to my scribblings, not to mention somewhat surprised.

I must think up something cool to celebrate. Whatever it is, there will be games and prizes. A grand prize worth 3000 cents, and other prizes to be determined.

Stay tuned...

So what was that spike at the end of August?

At the end of September, actually. It was when my "Ode to the Semicolon" appeared in the GrammarGirl newsletter in celebration of National Punctuation Day.

Yes, there is a National Punctuation Day, and yes, I wrote a poem in praise of the semicolon. That is what you call geek cred.

;-)

Aha! I understand, I did read that poem and it's very fun.

It's severe geek cred. :)

Congrats! That is great!

I second the trip, but would settle for chocolate, but alas, I'm not eligible to be number 3000.

How about chocolate for all 3000 of us? Or WINE, or both, now that is a celebration!
