An angry screed about agents and publishers

I wrote an angry screed about agents and publishers, which I was going to post in response to this article about "10 Writing 'Rules' We Wish More Science Fiction and Fantasy Authors Would Break". I've decided to post this photo montage of Pinkie Pie instead:

So cute! So funny! So inoffensive and non-harmful to a writing career!

Why not post the angry screed? Because agents and publishers.

    1. It was therapeutic, but there's no point in posting it.

  2. I'm halfway through writing my own. It's, well, a thing.

  3. I'm curious. I didn't see anything grossly angrifying (I made that up my very own self :)) about the article you linked to. What provoked the unpublished screed?

    1. Going from "I don't see any mainstream books with X" to "I wish writers would do X" is deeply flawed.

Writers do X all the time. They also do cool and interesting things like Y, Z, aleph, zed, and sigma.

The article should have said, "I don't see any mainstream books with X. I wish agents and publishers would be open to those authors doing X."

  4. Ah. I dashed over the intro to see the "rules". Will go back and re-read.
